Hans-Christian Euler studied violin in Hanover and London. He became a founding member of the Orchestra of the 18th Century in Amsterdam in 1981 and played in the Lower Saxony State Orchestra Hanover from 1983 to 2020. In 1987, he took on a teaching position for violin at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media and became artistic director of the Ensemble Musica Viva Hanover in 1994. He has given concerts and courses in various European countries, Israel, Australia and China.
In 2005, Hans-Christian Euler founded the Nordstadt-Konzerte concert series in Hanover and now conducts the Hanover Chamber Orchestra. Based on his knowledge and experience in the field of historically informed performance practice and new music, he is committed to unusual programme concepts.
Hans-Christian Euler has performed at numerous festivals, including Festwochen Herrenhausen, Festival Musik 21 Niedersachsen, Klangbrücken Hannover, Aujourd'hui musique Perpignan, Festival der Normandie, Bologna Festival, Mozart Festival Poznan, Music-Days Tarsus in Turkey, the International Contemporary Music Festival Daegu and the Tongyeong International Music Festival in South Korea.
In October 2020, Hans-Christian Euler was presented with a UNESCO Creative City of Music Award in South Korea as part of the Isang Yun Prize 2020.
