On 11 April, the Hannover Chamber Orchestra will present a diverse concert at the Klangbrücken Festival Hannover, which combines sound art and musical boundary-crossing in a unique way. The programme ranges from Baroque inspiration to experimental music of the 20th century.
From John S. Beckett, four-part arrangements of selected pieces from Henry Purcell's ‘The Fairy Queen’ will be performed, allowing the baroque magic of the stage work to shine through in a fresh, newly designed timbre. An exciting contrast is provided by Morton Feldman's composition ‘Samuel Beckett, Words and Music for Chamber Ensemble’, a work of haunting reduction and exceptional depth.
The location and time are yet to be announced – but one thing is already certain: it will be an extraordinary evening full of musical discoveries.
